Copyright Protection

Copyright protects literacy work, dramatic, musical or artistic works, sound recordings, films, broadcasts or the content of publications.  Please note that copyright cannot protect a single word or even a slogan, such 'work' is too minimal to cross the threshold for copyright.  However, words and slogan may be protected by trade mark registration, see our trade mark section.

Our copyright registration service costs £30 plus VAT per annum and we will issue a registration certificate to confirm the details of the copyright registration which can also be used as evidence to support your ownership of the copyright material.  However, the main benefit of registering a copyright claim with us is that we will prepare and serve a 'notice/cease and desist letter' to any third party that uses the copyright protected material without your consent together with undertakings that the offending party must sign to confirm that they will cease all use of the copyright material.
